Greetings, dear family
Year 2008 has started.
Did you spend happy new year holidays?
I had a cozy new year with people close to me.

In Korea, we eat “tteokguk,” Korean style rice cake soup for new year.
There is popular belief that you get older by the number of bowls you eat.
As a child I tried to eat number of bowls so that I could grow up quickly.
It is a pleasant memory for me.

Thanks to all family, we had many good things last year.
Especially, at MBC Drama Awards ceremony,
Drama “Tae Wang Sa Shingi,” Bae Yong Joon received Grand Acting Award.

We were able to achieve good results as you have always watched us in same sprit.
We sincerely send our appreciation to all family,
and we will do our best in our activities in return for everyone’s kindness.

I wish that every family find happiness in year 2008.

It is already one year since opening of this mobile site.

I am sorry that I was not able to send my greetings directly.
But through this site, I am happy to feel that I am with family who is far in distance.

I hope we can provide you more contents in the future and will be able to show you in good looks.


This drama shooting was very difficult, but I have safely finished it with your trust and support.
Thank you very much.

Lastly, though it is a little late, let me send new year’s greetings to everyone.

Dear family,

It’s been a while. How are you?
I have made you worry and wait for so long,
but finally I am meeting you with “Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi.”


“Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi” is the first drama which I have challenged in four years.
Hero who actually existed, Great King Kwang-gae-to is drawn as an attractive person in this drama.
It is a dignified human drama which develops complexly intertwined with love-hate, faith and betrayal.
Also, quality of the drama has never been so high;
vast shooting set at Jeju-do which is beyond existing drama concept,
and CG(Computer Graphics) works which are like a movie.


Filming was so big in scale for a drama, there were always so many people involved at the site.
Actors and staff spent long hours together, we naturally opened up and got friendly.
We sometimes had physically hard times;
long hours of outside shooting in severe condition, and dangerous action scenes.
But, we would encourage each other, and continued shooting in good atmosphere.

Especially with Director Kim Jong-hak and all actors,
we laughed and talked and got to know each other very well, we were like true brothers and sisters.


Working with such famous directors, writers, and actors,
surrounded by kind staff, it was truly exciting and significant experience.
Through acting, I had suffered how to express Damdeok’s life, his inner conflict, pain and pleasure, hatred and love.
I feel that it helped me grow in great deal as an actor, and as a human being.
Also, all my family and many people showed interest and expectations for this drama.
I am most grateful for getting this chance to be involved in this drama.


I have worked such long time on this drama.
Even though the shooting is completed,
I don’t think I can separate myself from bottom of my heart, at least not for a while.
Maybe, I would feel some regrets too.

I should leave myself in a quiet surrounding to sort out my feelings.
I need some time to recharge my batteries again.

In near future, when time is right for me, I would like to go on a trip.
I am into wine these days, I would like to visit wine producing district,
eat something delicious and drink my favorite wine …
I am dreaming of such a pleasant trip.


Lastly, I would like to send my sincere appreciation to all my family for believing in me
and waiting for my work for such a long time.
I was able to do my best as you had quietly watched over me, and supported me.
I truly hope that you will enjoy this work.
